Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup Cornmeal
  • 1/2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp Baking powder
  • 1/4 tbsp Salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup Milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 1/4 cup Vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp Maple syrup optional for sweetness

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, combine the milk, vegetable oil, and maple syrup (if using).
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  • Grease a baking dish and pour the batter into it.
  • Bake for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

This cornbread is best served warm. Store any leftovers in an airtight container.
