Red Layer:
- 1 oz grenadine
- 1 oz light rum
- 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
Yellow Layer:
- 1 oz mango or pineapple juice
- 1 oz light rum
- 1/2 oz simple syrup
Green Layer:
- 1 oz blue curaçao
- 1 oz light rum
- 1 oz pineapple juice
Instructions
Preparation: Start by preparing your ingredients. Ensure you have all the liquids measured out and your cocktail shaker and glassware ready.
Mixing the Red Layer:
- In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine:
- 1 oz grenadine
- 1 oz light rum
- 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
- Shake well and strain into the bottom of a highball or hurricane glass.
Mixing the Yellow Layer: 3. Rinse the shaker and add:
- 1 oz mango or pineapple juice
- 1 oz light rum
- 1/2 oz simple syrup
- Shake well and slowly pour over the back of a bar spoon to layer on top of the red layer.
Mixing the Green Layer: 5. Rinse the shaker again and combine:
- 1 oz blue curaçao
- 1 oz light rum
- 1 oz pineapple juice
- Shake well and carefully layer on top of the yellow layer using the bar spoon.
Serving: 7. Add a few ice cubes to the glass and garnish with a slice of pineapple or a maraschino cherry.
