- 1 oz blood orange juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1 oz lime juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1 oz triple sec
- 1/2 oz agave syrup (or simple syrup)
- Ice cubes
- Blood orange slices and lime wedges for garnish
- Coarse salt for rimming the glass
Instructions
Preparing the Margarita Mix
- Juice the Fruits: Squeeze the fresh blood oranges and limes to extract the juice. Measure out 1 oz of blood orange juice and 1 oz of lime juice.
- Rim the Glass: Rub a lime wedge around the rim of your margarita glass or rocks glass. Dip the rim into coarse salt on a small plate to coat it evenly.
- Combine Ingredients: In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, blood orange juice, lime juice, triple sec, and agave syrup.
- Add Ice and Shake: Fill the shaker with ice cubes. Shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until the mixture is well-chilled.
Garnishing and Serving
- Prepare the Glass: Fill the rimmed glass with ice cubes.
- Strain and Pour: Strain the margarita mix into the prepared glass.
- Garnish: Add a slice of blood orange and a lime wedge to the rim of the glass for an extra touch of flair.
